Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should be ‘stripped of royal titles’ after dancing hospital video, fans demand

Video of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Dancing in Hospital Sparks Outrage, Fuels Calls to Remove Titles

A recently surfaced video showing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry dancing in a hospital room shortly before the birth of their daughter, Princess Lilibet, has ignited a wave of backlash online.

Shared widely on Instagram, the candid clip captures Meghan, visibly pregnant, dancing to the viral TikTok tune The Baby Momma Dance, while Prince Harry briefly joins in with a few of his own dance moves.

In the footage, Meghan wears a black maternity dress, holds her baby bump, lifts her skirt above her knees, and dances with her hands on her hips.

Intended to celebrate a joyful moment leading up to Lilibet’s birth, the video has instead drawn sharp criticism from royal traditionalists and some social media users.

Many viewers labeled the display inappropriate, accusing the couple of disrespecting royal decorum. The backlash has grown so intense that numerous commentators and royal fans are now demanding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex be stripped of their royal titles.

Online Criticism and Public Reaction

Nile Gardiner, a former adviser to Margaret Thatcher, weighed in on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Meghan and Harry’s royal titles should be removed as soon as possible.”

His comment quickly gained traction, with many users echoing the sentiment.

One replied, “Removal is necessary,” while another declared, “They continue to demean the monarchy. Strip the titles now.”

Criticism extended beyond social media. Royal biographer Angela Levin also expressed disapproval, calling the video “appalling” and “just awful.”

However, not all responses were negative.

Some defended the couple, arguing that the reaction was disproportionate.

One supporter wrote, “Dancing during labor is actually helpful. I did it myself to manage pain.”

Another added, “Why the outrage? It’s just a couple enjoying a private moment—they’re not harming anyone.”

Further Title Controversy Surrounding Meghan

The dancing video wasn’t the only source of contention. Meghan Markle also faced renewed scrutiny after a gift basket she sent was featured on a podcast, accompanied by a card signed “HRH The Duchess of Sussex.”

Critics were quick to point out that this violated the terms of the 2020 agreement made during the couple’s royal exit, in which they consented to stop using their HRH titles publicly.

While sources claimed the card was part of a personal gesture and not linked to any commercial venture, royal observers argue it still breaches the agreement and adds fuel to the ongoing debate over the couple’s use of royal titles.

Together, the video and the signed card have once again placed Meghan and Harry at the center of controversy, reigniting conversations about their royal status and the boundaries they may have crossed.
